Designer bridesmaid dresses

Continuing our look through the new bridal collections for 2014, this morning we’re entranced by celebrity favourite Marchesa. The Marchesa 2014 bridal collection when revealed a few weeks ago at New York Bridal Fashion week seemed to us to be a collection of three very distinct styles of wedding dress. Leading the way down the aisle were a brace of beautiful lace confections, followed by some more classic strapless styles and finally there were the ruffled wonders – wedding dresses that are more fantastical in their structure and more whimsical in nature.

Lace has been big news in wedding dress designs since Kate Middleton’s iconic royal wedding dress in April 2011 (so long ago now!) but for their 2014 wedding dresses Marchesa reinvent the look, moving away from classic romance to more contemporary silhouettes, with the addition of peplums and demi-trains. The look is still romantic, but with a more fashiony twist.

Particularly loving these  Marchesa short lace wedding dresses for 2014 Рgreat to see more short styles on the designer bridal catwalks, encouraging the rest of wedding designer world to embrace the city chic fun flirty look that so many brides want now.

From the lacy lovelies, the next section of the Marchesa 2014 bridal designs was more classic -strapless a-line and fishtail designs with simple embellishments.

The final group of  wedding dresses in the Marchesa 2014 bridal collection were all about embracing a light, airy and whimsical feel with three very distinctly different wedding dresses fitted corsets and skirts of ruffled, cascading layers of tulle.

So what do you think? Have you a favourite among the Marchesa 2014 wedding gowns, or not so much?
