My favorite color is and has always been pink. Not just any shade of pink, but blush pink – the color of ballet slippers. So when I was dress shopping with a friend last summer for her wedding and spotted another girl trying on this gorgeous light pink Monique Lhuillier gown, I fell in love with the idea of having a pink wedding dress.
Pink wedding dresses aren’t a totally new trend – rocker Gwen Stefani seemed to start the trend back in 2002 when she married Gavin Rossdale in an ombre gown designed by John Galliano.
Then Anne Hathaway, Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Biel all followed in her footsteps with unique, gorgeous pink gowns:
Whether it’s the lightest shade of blush or a darker, deeper rose color, pink wedding dresses are a feminine and unique way to add a hint of color to your wedding dress without going over the top. They’re not just for celebrities either – here are some real girls looking pretty in pink on their wedding days:
